Why I Want to Lose Weight

  • To feel good about myself.
  • To be able to run, jump and play with my kids and pets without fear of hurting myself (or them!).
  • To be able to wear the latest fashion.
  • To be able to wear shorts and singlets in hot weather.
  • To be able to go swimming and feel comfortable in my swimmers.
  • To not dread going to the doctors, even though I know he’ll check my weight.
  • To look forward to looking in my mirror every morning.
  • To not have to worry about how much weight a chair or bench holds before sitting down.
  • To have ankles that look normal.
  • To be able to choose clothes I like, not just the only ones that fit.
  • To be able to wear nice, feminine shoes.
  • To be able to wear sexy underwear.
  • To be able to walk up a flight of stairs and be able to talk afterwards.
  • To be able to get the haircut I really want, not the one that draws the most attention away from my fat face and chin.
  • So a guy will look me up and down for the right reason.
  • To be able to do my grocery shopping or eat in public without feeling self conscious.
  • To be able to sit on a bar stool and cross my legs like I used to.
  • So I can sit anywhere in a cinema, airplane, train or restaurant.
  • So I can sleep better.
  • So I can lower my blood pressure.
  • So I can lower my lower cholesterol.
  • To reduce depression.
  • To decrease the risk of osteoarthritis.
  • To set a good example for my kids and family.

..and most importantly so I can enjoy my time on this earth with my kids and family for as long as possible!
